You can steep it in two ways:

For a short steep – up to 3 minutes, the infusion will be strongly refreshing and invigorating.

For a longer steep – up to 5 minutes, the infusion will contain less caffeine, and its effect will be relaxing.
Over-steeping can cause bitterness in the taste of the infusion, but it won't make it contain more caffeine and be more stimulating. On the contrary, the tannins produced with each passing minute, giving a bitter taste, neutralize the theine's effect.
The black tea leaves are suitable for single steeping only.
